Synopsis
Cuba and the Night is a novel by Achy Obejas that tells the story of a young woman's coming of age during the Cuban Revolution. The novel is set in Havana in the 1950s and 1960s, and it follows the protagonist, Estrella, as she navigates the political and social upheaval of the time.

About the Author
Achy Obejas is a Cuban American writer. She was born in Havana, Cuba, in 1956, and she came to the United States with her family when she was a child. Obejas is the author of several novels, including Cuba and the Night, We Came All the Way from Cuba So You Could Dress Like This?, and The Tower of the Antilles. She has also written a collection of short stories, Memory Mambo.
Obejas's work has been translated into more than twenty languages. She has received numerous awards for her writing, including the Cuban American Book Award, the Flaherty-Dunnan First Novel Prize, and the Lambda Literary Award for Lesbian Fiction.
